Brenna Lou Jewellery Warranty & Care

Our Commitment to Quality

Every Brenna Lou piece is thoughtfully designed and carefully handcrafted using high-quality materials. Our jewellery is created to celebrate family and to be worn and treasured for many years.

All Brenna Lou jewellery is carefully inspected prior to dispatch to ensure it meets our quality standards.

Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, customers are entitled to receive goods that are:

  • of good quality

  • free from manufacturing defects

  • durable for a reasonable period considering the nature of the product and normal use

If a manufacturing defect occurs within six (6) months of purchase, Brenna Lou will arrange for the item to be repaired, replaced or refunded in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

Manufacturing Defects

Manufacturing defects refer to faults in the craftsmanship or construction of the jewellery piece.

Examples may include:

  • a ring band breaking under normal wear

  • a solder joint failing

  • a gemstone becoming loose due to setting failure shortly after purchase

  • incorrect sizing supplied by Brenna Lou

If a manufacturing defect occurs within six months of purchase, Brenna Lou will assess the item and determine the appropriate remedy as required by law.

What Is Not Considered a Manufacturing Defect

Jewellery is a precious product that naturally shows signs of wear over time. The following are not considered manufacturing defects:

  • normal scratching or surface wear

  • natural tarnishing of sterling silver

  • bending caused by pressure or impact

  • damage from chemicals, perfumes, lotions, chlorine or cleaning products

  • gemstone loss caused by impact, pressure or accidental damage

  • general wear from daily use

Gemstone Security

While every care is taken to securely set gemstones, fine jewellery can be affected by impact or pressure during everyday activities.

Loss of a gemstone due to accidental impact, pressure, or normal wear is not considered a manufacturing defect.

We recommend removing rings during activities such as:

  • exercise or gym workouts

  • gardening

  • heavy lifting

  • swimming or exposure to chemicals

Multi-Stone Jewellery & Lifestyle Wear

Many Brenna Lou rings contain multiple small gemstones. While these stones are carefully set, small gemstone settings are delicate by nature and may be affected by repeated pressure or impact during everyday activities.

Activities that may place additional strain on gemstone settings include:

  • gym or fitness activities

  • lifting heavy objects

  • gardening or outdoor work

  • contact with hard surfaces or equipment

While Brenna Lou jewellery is designed for everyday enjoyment, repeated impact or pressure may cause gemstones to loosen over time. This type of wear is considered normal lifestyle wear and not a manufacturing defect.

For this reason, we recommend removing rings during activities where they may experience pressure or impact.

Jewellery Care

To preserve the beauty and longevity of your Brenna Lou jewellery:

  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising or cleaning

  • Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions and household chemicals

  • Store jewellery separately to prevent scratching

  • Clean sterling silver with a soft polishing cloth to remove natural tarnish

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time. This is a normal reaction with air and moisture and is not considered a defect.

Jewellery Maintenance

Fine jewellery benefits from periodic maintenance.

We recommend that gemstone settings be checked annually to ensure stones remain secure and that the piece continues to be worn safely.

Repairs and Aftercare

Brenna Lou jewellery is designed to be worn and cherished for many years. If your jewellery requires attention outside of the manufacturing warranty period, we are happy to assist with repairs or restoration services where possible.

Repair services may incur a fee depending on the nature of the work required.

Assessment of Jewellery

In order to determine the cause of any damage or gemstone loss, Brenna Lou reserves the right to inspect the jewellery piece before confirming whether the issue relates to a manufacturing defect or normal wear.

Inspection Upon Delivery

Please inspect your jewellery upon receipt and notify us promptly if your item arrives damaged or incorrect so that we can assist you as quickly as possible.

Our Philosophy

Brenna Lou jewellery celebrates family, motherhood and meaningful connection. Our intention is to create pieces that can be worn every day and treasured for generations.

If your jewellery ever requires care or attention, our team will always endeavour to assist wherever possible.
